This morning I did a little photoshoot with my boys and their cousins (minus Hunter in Florida...we missed you!). I plan on giving these pictures as a gift to shu shu (their grandmother) for christmas. I plan on doing some more editing to these pictures but here are the best ones from today. You will see a few twice because I have put them in color and black and white. As you will see I really like the black and white :) Let me know what you think!

Things are changing

So after two hurricanes have come through here my husband and I have decided we have to move a little further north. We live about 20 miles from the coast in Vermilion parish and we have to leave any time a hurricane or tropical storm comes through because we live in a trailer. Now I must say, I am very proud of the fact that we do have this trailer. We bought it brand new with no help at the age of 22 which I think is a great accomplishment. Anyway, we live on family land which fortunately is not in a flood zone.

After we came to our conclusion to move the next step is for me to start working again to pay off a lot of our bills so we can afford a house. I have been going back and forth about this for a long time. The boys have two years before they will start kindergarten and I had originally wanted to stay with them until they started school. I am realizing that they will probably be our only children so it makes me a little sad to have to leave them. Everything went by way too fast when they were babies because there was sooo much to do with twins. Anyway let me get back to the subject. I heard about a part time job from a local mom and I got the info but hesitated on calling. Well last tuesday out of the blue my friend called me that I haven't spoken to in months. She first asked me how we did during the hurricane etc but then she says she has an opening at her job and thought maybe the boys were in Pre-k already and I might be interested. What!! Woo hoo! I went to talk to her (she does the hiring) and its perfect! I can start part time (while the boys are in mother's day out) and then at the beginning of the year I will go to full time. I will start out entering their invoices in the computer and graduate to accounts receivable after I understand their whole system. I'm a fast learner so I'm sure by the end of the year I will have it all down. So the best part is that I can ease into it. Its hard to go back to work after being home for four years.

After getting the job I had to think about daycare at the beginning of the year. There is a wonderful daycare right down the road from where I will work and even though it would cost me $800/month to have them both there I figured it was worth it. Well that afternoon I found out my cousin who lives right down the road has started her in-home daycare again and she does activities with the kids and doesn't just sit them in front of the tv all day. So I am definitely sending them to her so I can save almost $300/month and that can go to bills. Everything is falling into place. You know, every few years when we get into a bind the Lord always provides for us. A few years ago we were having trouble paying bills and out of the blue a friend of my husband called him about a job. And about a year after that when things were getting bad again they offered for him to work offshore. Now this! I am just very grateful. Now ofcourse I still want to take pictures. I know I haven't posted any in a long time but I will have some soon.

Today is my 28th birthday. I don't really feel 28 but I can't really say how you are supposed to feel at 28. My hubby's 29th birthday is tomorrow so for one day out of the year we are the same age. Its really kind of neat because we were technically born exactly a year apart but the year I was born was a leap year. So we almost had the same birthday and because we have twins they have the same birthday LOL. I really haven't been taking many pictures lately but here are a few that show what we have been up to lately....which isn't much

I got my first paying gig as a photographer! Stacy with acadiana moms has asked me to take the pictures at her son's first birthday party. Robbie from AM will be taking pictures also. The party is not until september but I'm already excited. If I could just do birthday parties and portraits I'd be in heaven. I'll be posting some of the pictures on here afterwards so keep an eye out!

Disappointed

The boys are really into The Incredibles right now and last week the dash costumes were on disneyoutlet.com for $7.99 (originally $39.99)!! I bought them two but the smallest size was medium. I figured my boys aren't small and they wear 5t clothes so the medium should just be a little big. WRONG! We got them in today and they are really big on them. The actual costume could be pinned in certain areas and it would be fine but the accessories are way too big (gloves and "boots"). I'm disappointed. We are having an incredibles themed birthday party for them so I figured they could wear their costumes and they could also wear them for halloween. I found some in two sizes smaller on ebay but ofcourse they are wanting over $20 for one and I only had to pay $25 for two after shipping. Here is a picture just to show you.

It seems I have a little artist on my hands. Yesterday morning Adison walked up to me with one of those magnetic draw boards and there was a picture drawn on it. I thought to myself that my mom's husband had drawn it because that is an activity they do whenever he visits. Adison then tells me he drew me a dog to make me happy. I looked at it again and realized he actually drew it! I have since learned that the boys have been practicing drawing dogs and cats at mother's day out but I still think it is a very good picture for a three year old!

Baby Cow!!

Our cow had a calf this morning and it is sooooo small! My grandfather is having to bottle feed it and the normal bottle for a cow was too big so he went to the dollar store and bought a baby bottle to feed it. None of my family members have ever seen a cow this small, it is literally the size of a dog...I hope it lives.

Well I found my phone! That is my good news. My aggravating news is after getting my computer back from HP it is now having different problems and nothing they tell me to do is working. I will not bore you with the details. I've been so busy the last two weeks that I haven't taken many pictures but I'll be putting some on here real soon. Next week I'll be taking pictures of my friend's band so I'll post those as well. I'm hoping I get some referrals from them to start taking pictures. As always, please leave me your feedback on my pictures whenever you see them and if you are interested in having some pictures done by me just let me know!

I haven't done any new blogs lately because my computer had to be sent to HP to get fixed. My wireless internet stopped working so I sent it in before my warranty is up next month. All my photo editing software and the software for my camera is on that computer and I didn't feel like putting it on my husband's computer so I'm going to wait until I get mine back to post new pictures.

This past two weeks has been very stressful. First my dryer broke, then my computer broke and then...I lost my new cell phone at the Carrie Underwood concert!! I have no idea how it could have fallen out of my pocket but that is the only way I could have lost it. Ofcourse I had no insurance on it and I was definitely not paying $350 for another one! My aunt had an extra one so I bought a new sim card for it but the thing doesn't have any bars in my house! So, I had to buy an unlocked phone off of ebay. I LOVED my phone. It was a sony ericsson and it was an mp3 player and it had a pedometer and....oh I can't list everything. I got it free for signing a contract but we had bought a memory card for it for like $50...all gone!! I'm so bummed!
